Despite the fact that I'm psyching myself up for heading to Grand Valley in the fall over the summer, I still don't know where I'll be living.

I called the housing office yesterday to check the status of my housing application, and the woman I talked to was very unhelpful. It turns out I had been placed on the wait list because I'm a transfer student (and thus apparently don't have the same standing as a regular student), even though I submitted my application only a few weeks after I was accepted. So I have to wait until someone cancels with my housing preferences (because the campus "literally full right now" according to the housing office) to find out if I'll be living on campus; the woman said it should be before mid-July, and if I don't hear anything from them by then, I should look elsewhere, although I'll lose the $150 deposit - I could get out now with $100, but I'd rather wait and take my chances about getting something on campus.

I told Mommy and Dad about it, and they told me not to worry - things like this happen all the time but end up working out fine. I am trying not to think about it, but my mind always wanders back to it because before I know it it'll be July and I'll have to start shopping for college things, and I'd like to have everything set by then. I really hope that it doesn't come to looking for off-campus housing; I certainly don't have the means/resources for an apartment, and I'd prefer to live on-campus for my first year there because I've never lived on my own before. So I'm keeping my fingers crossed and hoping that things work out, because I have no other options.
