an obama fashion show

I'm pretty much cured of the sickness I had towards the end of spring break, whatever it was - although now I've developed a cough, much worse than previous ones. It seems to be decreasing, which is always a good sign, but it's gone on a lot longer than it should. I'm debating whether or not to bring it up with Mommy and see if I can get it checked out, but I'm pretty sure she'll just tell me to let it run it's course because it seems to be getting better. No one has mentioned anything during the 590633246 times I coughed over the past few days, especially those times I was coughing so hard I could barely talked, so I'm guessing I shouldn't really worry about it. I just hope I'm better soon, because I haven't been in the best mood lately.

This week in television:

I was hoping my Amazon order would be here earlier this afternoon, since I checked the website as often as I could to see where my stuff was at and I was pleasantly surprised to find that it arrived at the post office earlier this afternoon, when it wasn't expected until Monday. But it hadn't arrived at my house yet, which means that if it's in town, it'll be here tomorrow. At least, I hope so. If it doesn't get here until Monday I'm going to be pissed, because I'll spend the weekend thinking about that instead of all the school things I have to do this weekend.
Now if the Converses I ordered could get here in less than 11 days, I'd be golden.

I have not done any homework today, despite how eager I was yesterday to get working. I planned on doing my Anthropology exam today (just to get it out of the way) and typing up part of my English paper, but of course, none of that happened - I showered and listened to music all day while anxiously checking on the status of my Amazon order. So the revised plans now are to do the Anthropology exam and essays tomorrow and my English paper on Sunday and Monday morning, if I need it. I also have my Film review, but I'm going to save that for Monday/Tuesday and turn it in on Wednesday because a) I still have no idea what I'm going to do, thus the need for extra time, and b) I really don't want to watch the movie we'll be watching that day. I think I can still do well if I turn it in later - the professor hasn't penalized anyone for a late assignment yet, I probably won't be the only one turning it in late, and I have late coupons if absolutely necessary. So we'll see how it goes.

This week in television:
- I'm pretty content with the results of American Idol's first elimination - I never really liked Jorge, Jasmine always seemed incredibly robotic and too young to become something big - but I wasn't expecting something huge to come in the first week of competition. Although I'm not crazy about the judges being able to save someone from elimination if they think a contestant deserves to stay when they're in danger of being voted off; if anything, they should be able to swap out a favorable contestant for one they didn't think do so well but ended up, so that it gets a little more competitive as the field narrows and viewers aren't all "why isn't (insert name here) in the competition instead of (insert another name here)?!?" And I don't know why they're putting this rule in place now, when a shocking elimination hasn't happened for a few seasons. But this is only another digression I have toward American Idol. Le sigh. Also, TWO SONGS DO NOT MAKE A MEDLEY. If anything, the combination of "ABC" and "I Want You Back" was an elaborate mash-up of two songs with similar rhythms. Despite that, I found myself dancing and singing along.
- I am so, so behind on Criminal Minds these days - about three episodes, and that annoys me to no end. I had this perfect plan set up where I'd watch American Idol at 8 and then watch Criminal Minds at 9, but Fox decided to be mean and move Lie To Me earlier. And this week was the big "Emily Prentiss reveals her big secret episode" which I have been waiting to see for several months. ARGH. I'm going to fall even further behind because school has gotten so so busy over the past few weeks (and will continue to be that way until I'm done in April) that I don't even have time to watch an episode online. I'm planning an epic catch-up marathon once school gets out and I have too much free time on my hands.
- Found CSI:NY to be somewhat anti-climatic, only because I read spoilers and saw video from it weeks before it actually aired. I really loved the little heart-to-heart between Mac and Danny. I'm convinced the baby is going to be a little girl.
- The only part of The Office I liked this week was the KGB joke, for reasons that even I don't quite understand yet. I'm pretty apathetic about the show right now because I hate the place that Jim&Pam's relationship is in - like, you can't even tell they're going to get married by watching these episodes. I WANT WEDDING DETAILS, PLZ.
- I WISH THE POCKET MICROWAVE ON 30 ROCK WAS REAL :(
- I may or may not have cried watching ER last night. EPIC NOSTALGIA ALL OVER THAT SHOW, GUYS.
