School continues to frustrate me - I have a topic proposal for English due on Monday, despite the fact that I just turned in the final copy of my second paper on Wednesday and I have only a vague idea of what I want to do this paper on; I took a quiz in English when I was given no indication of the professor giving any type of quiz (or any other type of work beyond writing research papers, WHICH IS WHAT THE CLASS IS SUPPOSED TO BE ABOUT); and I'm pretty sure that I failed my Human Relations test, because I thought it was next week instead of yesterday.
However, I've aced my last two American History tests without taking a single note, making me believe I might have an A in the class; and I can register for Grand Valley classes in a little over a week. I'M SO CLOSE TO BEING FREE, YOU GUYS.

Another busy weekend; Monica's Confirmation is on Saturday, and my aunt&uncle&fivecousins (her godparents) from Omaha are coming into town, and we've got several get-togethers planned. I don't have school today, so I'm going to the mall in Ann Arbor with Grandma while Mommy does things at the hospital. And tonight I'm going to a church play that my cousins are in. So I'll have to find a little time somewhere to have to myself to do some homework. I got a few-days extension on my
inrevelations story, which is both good and bad, because I haven't had time to go through and edit or type it up, but with this English paper I have to write, I might put it off until the last minute, which is never good. Hopefully I'll have enough time.

This week in television:
- I was excited about American Idol doing Motown, since I know a majority of the songs and listen to quite a few of them on a regular basis. Plus, the Idols visited Detroit! It made the local news last week, and I was pretty excited to see that something good was coming out of Detroit when the auto industry is on the brink of collapse. I only really enjoyed one of the performances: Kris' - I didn't know that "How Sweet it Is to Be Loved By You" was orginally a Motown song! I only knew of the James Taylor version. I absolutely adore that song, BTW. And Kris sounded very good singing it. I absolutely hated Scott and Megan's performances. Scott ruined what is possibly my favorite Motown song - "You Can't Hurry Love", I listen to the cover by Phil Collins nearly everyday - by spending another week behind the piano trying to make the song slower than it should be; and Meghan totally butchered Stevie Wonder, when she should have taken the advice of one the Detroit Free Press writers and sang "Baby Love", a song that's more suited to her voice. I was a little surprised she didn't go home last night, but I guess she's got a bigger fanbase than people who don't like her. Danny's performance of "Get Ready", when he danced with the back-up singers, reminded me of of this picture, which caused me to laugh uncontrollably. I was disappointed by the medleys last night - I thought there was going to be a Motown medley with Stevie Wonder, not one medley of only Diana Ross songs (uh, we did that two seasons ago) and one medley of Stevie Wonder songs sung by Stevie himself. I was content with Michael leaving; it looks pretty clear that a guy's going to win this year, and he's really not a front runner.
- BABY NAMES ON CSI:NY! I was literally flipping out. I had to laugh because Danny was only focusing on boy names because he thought since he only has brothers and Linsday only has brothers (I loved Hawkes' remark when Danny listed off family names - "What is that, the cast list of Godfather II?") - when it's pretty obvious they're having a girl; I even called it a few weeks ago. I'm still confused by the ending when Lindsay calls him and tells him they're having a girl; it's obvious the baby isn't born yet - according to spoilers she'll come sometime in May, so what I'm wondering is why they waited this long to find out. Usually you either find out the sex at the first possible moment or wait until the birth. Am I reading too much into this? Probably. Anything involving babies and I tend to go a little crazy. I can't help it.
- I didn't hate The Office, but I didn't love it either. I'm not surprised Pam was the one who went with Michael - she's the one who always wanted to be more than a receptionist (that's why she went to New York) and it makes sense with the one spoiler I read about them casting a new receptionist, but I'm unsure how it's going to work out; I don't want Pam to fail at being a salesperson the way she failed at being a graphic designer. Plus, it'll probably put a rift between Jim and Pam, which is really not what their relationship needs right now.
- KENNETH THE PAGE SEES EVERYONE AS MUPPETS. I now have a desire to see him on Sesame Street.
- ER was wonderfully adorable last night. It certainly doesn't feel like next week is the finale, and I have a feeling that next week isn't going to feel like the real end of the show, and we'll get some good closure.
