a change gonna come...

GUYS, IT'S HERE. After 22 long months of primaries, attack ads, conventions, debates and SNL parodies, it's FINALLY here. I woke up at 6 this morning because I was too excited to sleep in. I voted a little over an hour ago and I still can't stop smiling. I'm wearing my Obama t-shirt and my little "Vote Obama!" pin and an "I voted" sticker and I've never felt happier. It's a great feeling.

I don't really want to be in school right now. I'd rather be home with Mom&Dad all day watching CNN&MSNBC and driving them crazy with my obsessing. I plan skipping Government today because my excitement can't be contained and I really, really want to watch the "Election Day" episode of The West Wing. It's not like we're doing anything election-related anyway; Speech is where all that goes down.

There's an Election Night party tonight at a restaurant&bar downtown that I may or may not go to. I'm the only one from our team who's not 21, so it might be a little awkward to have everyone getting drunk except for me. And it might be going really late, as polls in the west don't close until 11, and everyone else will still be there. And it's not like I can drive myself home. So we'll see.

ALSO: DECISIONS ARE MADE BY PEOPLE WHO SHOW UP. SO IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE IT ALREADY, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE VOTE. IF YOU DON'T, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO COMPLAIN! :)

Also, I decided not to attend the Election Night party downtown, since no one can take me. I'm gonna stay up until 2 AM watching election results and helping Monica with her homework, even though I've got school tomorrow :(
